45,300 Jobs Added to Bay Area Jan-April 2019
Tech, healthcare, and construction continue to lead the way for the Bay Area's booming economy. In the month of April alone, tech companies added 1,100 jobs in the San Francisco-San Mateo region, 600 in the South Bay and 600 in the East Bay, according to an analysis of the EDD seasonally adjusted figures by Beacon Economics and UC Riverside. With a state unemployment rate of just 4.3 percent, employers are seeking talent from near and far.
Despite the prospective trade war with China, and several highly anticipated tech IPOs coming up short, economists are encouraged that the region will continue to see employment gains for the foreseeable future.
