Drink Beer: Save Baby Mountain Lions
Updated: Feb 9, 2019
I know, you’re sitting in an office somewhere thinking about how tomorrow is Friday, which causes you to think about the weekend. “But it’s February, and it’s cold, and I don’t want to sit in Tahoe-bound traffic,” you say.
Consider planning a visit to Oakland’s oldest craft beer brewery, Ale Industries, and purchasing a case (or 4) of Bay Cat Ale. For each case purchased, $6.00 is donated to the Oakland Zoo’s Bay Area Cougar Action Team (BACAT). Plus, it’s brewed with locally-sourced sage, chamomile, coriander and orange peel… farm-to-table FTW!
In 2013, the Oakland Zoo partnered with the Bay Area Puma Project and the Mountain Lion Foundation on projects that include supporting the California Department of Fish and Wildlife’s efforts to save mountain lions caught in the human-wildlife conflict. Here are some of the babies they’ve rescued!
